Following the theme of better harmony between Microsoft’s different services, the Office team has added Skype chat to Office Online.
Office Online is Microsoft’s answer to cloud-based, free document editors such as Google Docs, featuring Word Online, Excel Online, and PowerPoint Online. A chat functionality was long wanted, so better late than never. Where Microsoft takes this a step further is by allowing users to extend their chat to their Skype desktop/mobile clients to continue their collaboration later on. This a very convenient step.
To use the feature, just click on the chat button when editing a document.
